Green Shoots

Ben Bernanke (chairman of the US Federal Reserve), Barak Obama, Kevin Rudd and Wayne Swan all assure us that the first signs of a recovery are appearing and that the recession won’t be as deep as we have all feared.

What REALLY scares us

Recently we received an article from Marcus Padley of Patersons Securities. We have decided to share this article with you, called "What REALLY Scares Us", as it provides an insightful view on the risks of entering, or perhaps not entering, the market.

Super Funds and Estate Planning

For a number of our clients, their superannuation benefits form the largest part of their estate.  Therefore, estate planning in Superannuation is an important and crucial area to be considered by all members and trustees of a fund.

Many clients are surprised to find that their Will is completely ineffective when it comes to disposing of their superannuation benefits on their death.  They wrongly assume that because they have made provision for the passing of their superannuation benefits in their Will that this will happen.

The Fall of the Interest Rate

With interest rates falling dramatically over the past few months, the key question is whether or not borrowers should fix their home loans.

Almost every industry expert has a different view. Some senior economists are forecasting further large falls in the Reserve Bank cash rate whilst others say we’re nearing the bottom of the cycle.
